The picture shows two dinosaurs fighting against each other in the Xixia
Dinosaur Ruins Theme Park in Henan Province. The park, the first of its
kind in China, opened to the public on July 6, 2006. The fossils of
dinosaur eggs discovered in Xixia were such well preserved that they were
even addressed as the ninth miracle after the terra-cotta worriors.

Chinanews, Zhengzhou, July 18 - The second Chinese dinosaur theme park
after Zigong Geological Park of Dinosaurs and Other Ancient Creatures in
Sichuan Province, Xixia Dinosaur Park in Henan Province is now open to
the public.
The park consists of four parts, the Geological Knowledge Square,
Dinosaur Egg Fossil Museum, Dinosaur Garden and Dinosaur Site. In the
museum, visitors will not only see the fossils but also learn a lot of
paleontological knowledge via multi-media ways. However, the Dinosaur
Site is actually the most important place to visit, as here is where the
Chinese legend originates.
The Dinosaur Site in Xixia belongs to the stratum of the Cretaceous
Period, where more than 1,000 dinosaur egg fossils can be found,
according to experts estimate at least 16 stratums of egg fossils. Now it
is confirmed that the eggs found here belong to dinosaurs of 13 species
of 7 genera of 4 families. The giant egg fossils, each more than 50 cm
long, which have been found nowhere else, have become the symbol of the
Xixia Dinosaur Site. The egg fossils in Xixia are not only famous for the
great quantity, but also for the miraculously perfect preservation.
Besides the egg fossils, the bones of the dinosaurs found recently add to
the precious collection in Xixia. Maybe one day Xixia will become the key
for people to solve the mystery of dinosaurs extinction.
