Foreigners like to travel in Shanghai
www.chinanews.cn 2007-04-12 09:12:30
Chinanews, Shanghai, April 12 - Shanghai is very warm this spring, and
many foreigners choose to visit here during the Easter holiday, to
experience the unique Shanghainese lifestyle, like visiting flower expo,
tasting fresh tea, and doing shopping.
Ms Hanz, from Germany, arrived in Shanghai with her children 4 days ago.
She came here to join her husband, who works in Shanghai.
"They say that Shanghai is very crowded, but I don't care. Nothing is
better than happy family reunion. Besides, I love the wonderful sunshine
here," said Ms Hanz.
Mr Hanz said that he originally had planned to go to Hainan during the
10-day holiday, but eventually he had changed his mind, for his wife and
children all wanted to enjoy Shanghai life thoroughly.
Unlike Ms Hanz, who is here for family reunion, many foreigners come to
Shanghai for sightseeing only. Some international flights, which are
usually occupied by Chinese passengers, are now full of foreign
travellers. A lot of them have come to Shanghai in package tour.
"I had wanted to go to Tibet, but after I arrived in Shanghai, I thought
the better of it," said Luke, from Britain.
Luke is an amateur photographer, and he wished to record the mysterious
Tibet with his camera. However, after his first day in Shanghai Botanical
Garden, where he was deeply impressed by the numerous flowers, he
realized that Shanghai would be a marvellous place for photographing, too.
"A week is far from enough to experience beautiful springtime Shanghai,
and I have to let Tibet wait for me till 2008," said Luke.
